Welcome to Thing 20!
GCPEDIA is a collaborative authoring and development environment for all GoC employees, thus its role is different from the internet and the intranet. Whereas the Wiki is meant to provide a free and open environment for collaboration and discussion, the intranet and the internet are official communications and information sharing vehicles. As such the intranet and internet are home to final documents, approved polices and procedures as well as official communication channels for departmental employees, our external clients and citizens. The Wiki is intended to house content under collaborative development."

From the When to use wikis page:
Things that go on GCPEDIA

- An article reporting the status of something that changes frequently (e.g. a project under development)
- An article about which you have partial knowledge and would like further input from other experts
Things that shouldn't go on GCPEDIA
- Data that needs a level of access security
- Authoritative information, such as a policy or the staff handbook
- A page containing verbatim content from a fixed document or documents
- A page where the data owner is not prepared to allow editing

Explore! Think about how we might use of GCpedia in the digital office.
Oops! I should have read Thing 20 before I posted my previous comment! It looks like using GCPedia as a location for our procedures is not an approved use. Could we have access to administering our own Intranet page then?
ReplyDeleteI don't want to join this as I do not feel this is a place for my comments at the moment.
